Master thesis | History (MA)
The figure and work of Arnolt Schlick, especially his 'Spiegel der Orgelmacher und Organisten', is presented in the light of the general Renaissance debate. Regarding a.o. the position of the artist and the arts, this case-study suggests a more nuanced definition to both a nineteenth-century, still strong in music history writings, and a revisionist point of view.
