De scriptie onderzoekt door een analyse van in de narratio voorkomende waardeoordelen en technieken om die over te dragen, van het gebruik van praesentia historica en van focalisaties, welke strategieën Aeschines gebruikt heeft om ondanks gebrek aan harde bewijzen voor zijn beschuldigingen het dokimasia-proces tegen Timarchus te kunnen winnen.
