- The centerfold figure is absent in this digital version of the thesis since the figure was too large to be able to be scanned. I will forward you to von Gall's "Reiterkamfbild", published in 1990, figure 3, or if you would like to find it on the internet, search for: cataphracts and visit the wikipedia page on cataphract cavalry. A reconstruction of the Tang-e Ab frieze can be seen here, although slightly different from the one used for the thesis. It gives one an idea of how the frieze looks like, since the original photographs provided in the thesis are somewhat unclear
