This thesis examined whether gender-based stereotypes played a role in the campaigns of female candidates who were running for a seat in the Senate of the State Florida in the years 2012 and 2014. It argues that gender-based stereotypes did not play a role in the campaigns of the female candidates. The female candidates did not campaign differently from the male candidates.
