This thesis analyzes the portrayal of Martin Luther King in the film "Selma." The portrayal of Martin Luther King in many mainstream media is often unbalanced, because it focuses too much on some aspects of him, such as his speeches, while ignoring other factors. This thesis discusses how the film "Selma" gravitates towards a King-centered "narrative" of the Civil Rights Movement in Selma, although it tries to include other "narratives" as well.
