International labour diplomacy: the case of the Italian CGIL

This thesis examines the ideological transformation of the Italian trade union CGIL from communism to reformism, focusing on the interplay between local and global dynamics in labour diplomacy. It investigates the internal ideological conflicts and the evolution of the union’s affiliations, particularly the shift from the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) to the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
