Flirting with Fascism: Examining the extent to which Dutch right-wing extremist youth organizations make use of ecofascist themes: A case study

This thesis examines the extent to which Dutch Right-Wing extremist youth organizations make use of ecofascist themes within their online propaganda by performing a case study into Dutch right-wing extremist organization De Geuzenbond. At present day an increase in right- wing extremism can be found under Dutch youth resulting in increased online propaganda. These groups apply different themes present within society in order to attract new members. By incorporating evidence from data extracted from Geuzenbonds online propaganda magazine De Stormlamp, this study shows that ecofascist themes are used throughout right- wing extremist propaganda. It argues for a limited extent of ecofascist themes within online propaganda, making use of ecofascist themes in order to attract new members. Furthermore, it argues that Geuzenbond operates through a covert nature, making it difficult to assess their ideology and beliefs.
