The New Media Hyper-Reality

In this thesis, the concept of hyper-reality is related to the field of new media. The hyper-reality of new media brings about a number of problems, among which a system of control and forms of disappearance. These problems can be solved by approaching new media from the perspective of new media objects as opposed to Baudrillard’s old media perspective. In particular, the medium of video games has great potential merits for a better understanding of the new media hyper-reality and its connected problems.
