La persistencia de la discriminación lingüística: Percepciones y experiencias de los hablantes de quechua en Perú

This study investigates the linguistic discrimination experienced by Quechua speakers in Peru, focusing on their perceptions of and experiences with linguistic rights. Despite the legal recognition of Quechua and other indigenous languages under Law No. 29735, Quechua speakers continue to face significant barriers in accessing their linguistic rights due to systemic discrimination and ineffective policy implementation. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research surveyed 39 Quechua speakers from urban and semi-urban regions, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses to explore themes of representation and application of linguistic rights. The findings reveal that while legal frameworks exist, their practical enforcement remains insufficient.
