This thesis examines the codes of conduct of cybersecurity companies in the Netherlands. The thesis will discuss relevant literature regarding the ethical considerations surrounding the codes of conduct of cyber security companies. In this research, a qualitative content analysis will be done using stakeholder theory and shareholder theory to analyse the content of the ethical statements of cybersecurity companies. Which will show to what extent the stakeholder theory and shareholder theory can be identified in the codes of conduct of cybersecurity companies in the Netherlands. This study has revealed that stakeholder theory has a stronger presence in codes of conduct than shareholder theory. Cyber security companies focused on the interests and concerns of their stakeholders in their codes of conduct.
