Wat blijft er over van Europa's gezicht: Een imagologische benadering van het Europabeeld in de poëtische werken van V. V. Majakovskij

This BA-thesis researches the image of Europe as put forward in the poetry of V. V. Mayakovsky, one of the most significant Russian poets from the era around the revolutions of 1917. The thesis utilises the methodological framework of imagology and discours analysis in order to come to a conclusion on which images, stereotypes, tropes and emotions Mayakovsky uses to imagine Europe and Russia's place in it. The selected poems reflect on the fundamental changes to the continent's political and social order in a time of war and revolution.
