The BJP has been able to achieve considerable success because the party has gone to great lengths to address the local challenges that the people of the Northeast face. The BJP’s rhetoric adhering to its Hindutva ideology used in mainland India, has been toned down and Hindutva has been localised on an ideological level to resonate better with the people of Northeast India.
