Music has long been considered an abstract art, which is impenetrable by the linguistic domain. However, multiple concepts relating to literature, such as 'narrative', 'process' and 'discourse' seem to have recently been applied to music as well. This thesis seeks to examine the narrative elements and possibilities of musical works, by examining how they interrelate with processes, lyrics and their own mediality.
