Empowered or overloaded?: The Moderating Roles of Compliance to the Ideal Worker Norm and Perceived Organizational Support in the Relationship Between Intensified Job-Related Planning &amp; Decision-Making Demands and Well- being

This study examined the relationship between intensified job-related & decision-making demands and employee well-being, along with the moderating roles of compliance with the ideal worker norm (IWN) and perceived organizational support (POS). Data was collected via a cross-sectional survey from 100 full-time employees using validated scales. Contrary to the expectations, intensified job-related & decision-making demands were not significantly associated with well-being, and IWN did not moderate this relationship. However, POS significantly strengthened a positive relationship between intensified job-related & decision- making demands and well-being, suggesting that when employees feel supported by their organization, they may be able to manage these demands better. These findings underscore the complexity of job demands and emphasize the empowering potential of POS.
