More Than Words on a Page: A New Visual Representation of Old English Poetry Based on Manuscript Formatting and Historical Performance

This thesis argues that commonplace formatting of Old English poetry does not adequately represent the historical reality of this poetry. A new "artistic" formatting is proposed that expressely attempts to represent a historically accurate oral performance of (in this case) "The Wanderer".
