(Un)Desired Voices: Organized Indonesian Indo’s Aspirations Surrounding the 1955 Elections and Transitional Period

This thesis traces the worldviews and outlooks of organized Indo-Europeans or Indos who opted for Indonesian citizenship post-revolution during the 1955 election period and different conceptions of a 'transitional period'. The critical historical method is applied to trace how and why circulating notions of 'Indoness', 'Indonesianness', representation, and other outlooks gained or lost traction among Indos and Indonesians.
