Parents of (presumably) gifted children often face unique parenting challenges that may affect their well-being, yet parental well-being in this group remains underexplored. Internal consistency, exploratory factor analysis, and multivariate analyses were performed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the instrument and to examine differences across well-being domains. The WOMM demonstrated excellent internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = .94) and strong convergent validity, with significant positive correlations with both the SWEMWBS (ρ = .67, p < .001) and the Cantril-ladder (ρ = .33, p < .001). Analysis show that parents of gifted children reported an overall well-being score that aligns with averages for the general population. Domain level analyses showed parents experienced strong emotional connectedness with their child, whereas personal well-being decreased. Regarding demographic factors, age was the only predictor, with older parents reporting higher personal well-being but lower satisfaction with their social networks (p < .05). These findings support the WOMM as a reliable and valid instrument for assessing parental well-being in this specific context. The results underscore that professional support should shift from traditional pedagogical advice toward interventions specifically targeting the parent's own well-being, as this domain represents the most significant area of clinical need.Show less
