The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict – Fueling Roles with Securitized Religion
- Author
- Ram, Romina
- Note
- The thesis confronts the fact that the role of the transcendental as key attribute of positions such as the Israeli and Palestinian ones has rarely been examined thoroughly in the field of International Relations (IR) theory. Nevertheless, I argue that religion represents a powerful asset of unrivaled validity. More specifically, it mobilizes an audience, which in the course of a securitization process evolves into the major supporter for certain policies. To include the divine in order to convince the other always contains a moral correctness of a higher sphere that makes it difficult to oppose the cause.
