Master thesis | Archaeology (MA/MSc)

The main question of this thesis is whether medieval town defences were the result of well thought out master plans or if they evolved over time. If they had been carefully planned, one would expect little variation (no different stages of construction). The research indicates that the town wall of Zevenbergen shows less variation than those of Den Bosch and Breda, the other towns investigated.
