This thesis provides an interdisciplinary approach - based on (intellectual) history, philosophy, sociology and literary studies - to the reception of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann's "The Social Construction of Reality" within Dutch Sociology, during the period of 1966 - 1976, through a discourse analysis. The thesis is maintained that the qualitative impact has been profound, as well as this being part of a bigger movement regarding the tension between objectivism and subjectivism within academia in general.
