La mythologie dans les contes de fées de Charles Perrault

- Charles Perrault est le chef des Modernes dans la Querelle des Anciens et des Modernes. Ce parti déclare que l'époque de Louis XIV est supérieure à celle d'Auguste et que l'Antiquité ne peut pas être imitée. Perrault est d'accord et confirme cette idée dans plusieurs oeuvres, notamment Le siècle de Louis le Grand et Les Parallèles. Après la fin de la Querelle, il publie un recueil de contes de fées en prose dans lesquels se trouvent des dizaines de références à des textes anciens. Ces références ne seraient pas autorisées selon les principes des Modernes. Cette thèse traite donc de la manière dont Perrault, en tant que chef des Modernes, incorpore la mythologie à ses contes de fées.
