DO QUARTINHO AOS QUADRINHOS: Empregada doméstica, humor e estereótipo nas tirinhas Waldirene A AM (1986-1989)

Aware of the presence of the domestic servant figure in various humorous and entertainment productions in Brazil, this research seeks to insert itself in the field of studies of humor and representations of domestic servants. Through the analysis of the character Waldirene, protagonist of the comic strips "Waldirene A AM", published in the newspaper "O Estado" from Santa Catarina during the years of 1986 to 1989, this research seeks to answer which stereotypes are triggered by cartoonist Sérgio Bonson in the construction of the maid Wadirene and consequently what stereotypes have to say about the society that consumed them. In this sense, the humor triggered by the comic strips seeks to reveal something about the reading public and indicate the perspective of the newspaper as an instrument of the ruling class.
