Kizomba - Angolan Cultural Export or Exploited Cultural Commodity?

The thesis investigates the dynamics surrounding the recent rise in popularity around the Angolan dance Kizomba. It argues that through old and new power structures in the field of culture, it has become a commodity that is exploited by Westerners, rather than staying a means of expression and identity formation.
