The development of private accommodation within this sector challenges the conserve-as-found mentality prominent in UNESCO rhetoric concerning World Heritage sites. This case-study of renters active in the private accommodation sector of the Old City of Dubrovnik shows that the actual practice of this conservation is more complex and related to social, political, economic and historical factors.Show less
