Inscriptions...Show moreThe present thesis attempts an analysis on the imperial cult in the Roman empire from the perspective of the worshippers that took part in it by setting up dedications to the emperor. Inscriptions from Hispania are studied in order to distinguish the religious feelings of the dedicants, with special attention to private cults. At the same time, some traditional interpretations on the imperial cult are challenged through the analysis of the epigraphic evidence.Show less
