Echter is er in de bestaande literatuur weinig bekend over lobbyen en lobbysucces in crisistijd. In dit kwalitatieve onderzoek wordt, met behulp van literatuur en vijf semigestructureerde interviews, een bijdrage geleverd aan theorievorming over dit onderwerp. De onderzoeksvraag In hoeverre hebben crises invloed op het lobbysucces in Nederland? wordt hiermee beantwoord. Vooraf zijn er twee succesfactoren voor lobbysucces in crisistijd opgesteld: communicatie met de politiek en het algemene belang van een lobby. Uit de interviews blijkt dat hier nog drie succesfactoren bijkomen: het kiezen van een goed moment om de lobby uit te voeren, het stappen naar de media en het gebruiken van officiële middelen. Na de vergelijking van deze factoren met de tevredenheid van de respondenten over de lobby, wordt geconcludeerd dat alleen de communicatie met de politiek invloed heeft op het lobbysucces. Gezien het weinige aantal respondenten van dit onderzoek, is er vervolgonderzoek nodig om te kijken of de overige factoren ook invloed hebben op lobbysucces tijdens crises.Show less
In dit onderzoek is met een inductieve aanpak onderzocht welke factoren bijdragen aan de keuze voor stakeholders om wel of niet deel te willen nemen of betrokken te willen worden bij een lobbyproces.

By means of the...Show moreThis thesis will investigate some explanatory factors that illustrate why the victimized parents of the child benefits scandal in the Netherlands were acknowledged this late. By means of the concept of citizen lobbyists, the position of parents in their striving to put their issues on the political agenda and fight for justice will be explained. This thesis will examine the three obstacles that the victimized parents faced in their pursuit of justice, namely; the organizational- and policy capacity of the victimized parents was lacking, the dominant frame of the policy monopoly on the justification of the harsh anti-fraud policies hindered the victimized parents in putting their issue on the political agenda, and NPM reforms have led to decentralization and a focus on efficiency. Employing a qualitative research approach, a series of semi-structured interviews will be held against the backdrop of the content of existing reports on the scandal, such as the reports of the Dutch Ombudsman (2017) and the Committee-Van Dam (2020). This thesis investigates the child benefits scandal from an individual point of view, therefore adding to the existing research into this scandal.Show less
