He is convinced that, in contrast to comparative philosophy, his method of intercultural philosophy – dialogue – can successfully contest Eurocentrism in philosophy. Although his writings predate the debate about epistemic justice, Renate Schepen has explored how a discourse between both can be mutually enriching. In this essay, I will examine the extent to which Kimmerle’s notion of intercultural philosophical dialogue contributes to epistemic justice.Show less

I will do so by providing counterarguments from Holtug, Doran and myself. Furthermore, I defend prioritarianism against arguments from Persson. I will do so by providing counterarguments from Weber and Porter. Finally, I will conclude that the Levelling Down Objection remains a solid argument against egalitarianism and therefore prioritarianism is preferable.Show less

It is also one of his hardest thoughts to penetrate for it is bound up with his ‘thought’ of the Eternal-Recurrence-of-the-Same. In this thesis I mean to provide an account of these notions. This will be done by interpreting what I take to be key aphorisms in Nietzsche’s work. Besides interpreting and explaining these notions an extensive account will be given on nihilism. For I take the notions of the eternal-recurrence and Amor-Fati to be a response to the problem that nihilism poses.Show less
