Eight...Show moreThis study provides a systematic review examining the relationship between social-emotional support of foster parents in Northwestern Europe and the decision to stop providing foster care. Eight studies were included from which the results together created the substantive basis for the conclusions. The main conclusion is that a lack of social-emotional support seems to have a relationship with the decision of foster parents to quit providing foster care. The studies that were included, however, were evaluated to be of sub-optimal quality as regards design and validity. Suggestions for future research are presented.Show less
