Contrary to the traditional view that portrays the Sicarii as a religiously motivated terrorist group, this study posits that they should be understood as a religiously inspired faction of bandits. By re-examining Josephus' accounts, this thesis aims to offer a nuanced interpretation of the Sicarii's motivations and actions, challenging prevailing narratives and contributing to a deeper understanding of their role in Judean history.Show less
