As a consequence of the complete lack of scrutiny of the integration component, this article demonstrates in which way and to what extent this assumption is true. This research includes the construction of a framework of indicators, in order to quantify the concept of integration, and it proposes a more efficient approach to the inevitably necessary reform of the Dublin Regulation. At the centre of this proposal, are the personal characteristics, as well as some of the preferences of the applicants.Show less

This thesis covers the changing ideology of the CCP from 1949 up till now, and offers an explanation on how the Party has been able to legitimize its shift from being a socialist state up till the end of the 1970's, to currently being one of the most capitalist countries in in the world.Show less

After a period of 77 years, the monopoly of the state owned Petroleum Company Pemex will end and (foreign) private investment in the energy sector will finally be allowed. The reform has been announced in response to the declining production rates and is expected to reverse this declining trend. I will analyse what has caused the Mexican government to make this decision, how they are planning to reform the sector and most importantly, what impact the reform is expected to have on the national economy of Mexico.Show less

Cosmopolitan peacebuilding scholars and critics have entered into a debate in recent years. Each group makes different assumption, arguments, and predictions about what motivates the actors engaged in peacebuilding; how such activities are designed, organized, and implemented; and what the outcomes and impact of peacebuilding are. In this thesis, I examine history education reform projects in Bosnia and Macedonia in order to determine which theory has greater explanatory power. I find that these two cases generally support the assumptions, arguments, and predictions of cosmopolitan peacebuilding scholars. However, these projects also validate several points made by critics. My findings have many important implications for the conflict resolution and history education fields.Show less
