By examining the works of artists such as Mahjong Friends, Francisco Ortega-Grimaldo, and Aki Lee, this study aims to uncover the underlying motivations, strategies, and impacts of these games. Through qualitative and conceptual analysis, I will demonstrate how these games serve as a medium for meaningful play and serious games, reflecting the complex interplay between designers' philosophies and players' belief systems. This investigation will contribute to bridging the gap between game studies and socially-engaged art, enriching both fields and generating a deeper understanding of the role of games in contemporary society.Show less
