It is investigated what meanings these memories, described by the narrator in the novel, have within a collective memory. The first chapter focuses on the contextualization of the period of the dirty war and the cases of impunity and atrocities. In this tesis El olvido que seremos is studied as an example of a testimony denouncing impunity and the crimes committed during the 70s and 80s. It also makes a suggestion towards the comparison between the novel as a Testimonio for denouncing atrocities and impunity in the Colombian society and today’s Colombian journalism.Show less
