A view which grounds obligations of justice in coercion is only able to do so when it can plausibly claim that relevant forms of coercion exist in the intergenerational realm. Only if this claim can be made, the scope of justice extends to future people. If not, the intuition cannot be accommodated and coercion theorists are faced with a dilemma: let go of the coercion view, or give up the intuition.Show less
