The music genre, notoriously known as ‘narcocorridos,’ can be heard on the internet and in public transportation. The term “narcoculture” is used to describe these acts, which indicates that the above mentioned elements are cultural expressions of drug traffickers. This recent visibility of the phenomenon, which is known for expressing violent and cruel actions, can be considered as an impact of the expansion of drug traffickers in the country, which can lead one to think about the authority and control of the Mexican government towards the phenomenon. The information provided by this thesis will describe the genesis, evolution and impact of narcoculture in Mexico.Show less
