This is a history of the Brabantine saints and dukes. Of special interest is the narrative about the tenth-century Duke of Lorraine, Otto, the last Carolingian duke. His sister Gerberga could not inherit Lorraine but after a century, Lorraine was in again in the possession of her lineage. This narrative is put in the 15th-century context of the political climate of the Burgundian states. The female line of legitimacy is of special interest.Show less
