To ensure stability and continuity of the child there has been a law review in 2015. The ‘acceptable term’ has been added to the legal bases of the supervision order and the authority-ending measure. This thesis examines how the acceptable term is shaped in practice and whether stability and continuity of the child is guaranteed. Interviews were held with judges, employees of certified institutions and employees of the Council for Child Protection. It emerges from interviews with these professionals (n = 29) that there are a lot of factors that must be taken along in determining the acceptable term. In addition, the lack of availability of help and the major impact of the authority-ending measure make it difficult for professionals to work with the acceptable term. Also, not all employees of a certified institution seem well informed about the application of the acceptable term. All in all, the addition of the acceptable term does not seem to contribute to ensuring the stability and continuity of the child. Implications and suggestions for further research are discussed.Show less

This research focuses on Russia as the patron state, and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as its client states. It finds that output legitimacy is the primary strategy of legitimation of Central Asian states, and that economic crises in Russia directly impact the stability of the researched states. However, this effect is somewhat alleviated by moderating factors in the case of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.Show less

Idiographic network models are a relatively novel way of estimating such intra-individual psychological processes. These methods are not without limitations, and concerns have been raised about the stability and accuracy of estimated networks. The extend to which idiographic networks are stable, or vary over time, is unknown. We explored temporal network stability from three angles, exploring variation within people, across different stability metrics, and across people. We reanalysed daily symptom records of people with personality disorders. We fit graphical Vector Autoregressive models separately for the first and second 50 days of consecutive measurements. Contemporaneous but not temporal idiographic networks appeared to be relatively stable within people. The assessment of stability varied considerably across metrics applied. There was large variation in network stability of contemporaneous structures across people, which could not be explained by subject-specific variables. We illustrate the temporal changes in contemporaneous network structures of two participants with high and low network stability and discuss the most pressing questions to be considered by future research.Show less
