People are often left into the unknown when it comes to the specific definition of these fields. In this study, the first step towards defining these fields is made. Three text analyses models were used to extract the general topics from various data science or artificial intelligence related program or course descriptions. These topics were used to be able to get a grasp on what skill sets are taught to data science and artificial intelligence students. Afterwards, an analysis of posterior classification of the topics per university was performed to explore the differences and similarities between the universities on their orientation of data science and artificial intelligence programs. General and specific skill sets are uncovered and differences between the universities are described in this paper. The results of this paper might be insightful for institutes that have no clear view whether their vacancies might be fit for data science or artificial intelligence graduates.Show less

Bint’s style is considered an example of the "Nieuwe Zakelijkheid / New Objectivity” style in art. The novel pictures a year in the career of teacher De Bree, and his struggle with discipline at a school in a large city in the Netherlands. In the pre- and post war era the novel had a notorious reputation, because of its harsh ideas on discipline, and its gloomy atmosphere. However, it is still read and admired for its unusual style. This thesis presents an analysis of the main linguistic, stylistic and thematic characteristics of Bint. Research questions were what the translation strategy of choice for Bint was to be, and given the choice for a certain strategy, what effects it would have on the stylistic characteristics of the novel. Subsequently, a translation of the novel into English was presented.Show less

This text came with the only linguistic study available at the moment, the grammar sketch by Rassadin (2010). Besides the text, a minidictionary was also published together with the grammar sketch. This dictionary was the source for the translation of the text, which was subsequently parsed and glossed. This work was published in order to revive the Soyot language which went extinct sometime between the 1970s and 1990s. However, a lot of this language has not yet been studied. The analyzed text provided new data and it was the basis for the description of the functions of participles and gerunds. The text also shows how predicative possession is constructed. On the other hand, the mini-dictionary helped to define the sound inventory of Soyot. With the help of literature on other languages, such as related Turkic languages or Mongolic languages which have influenced Soyot, a hypothetical IPA orthography could be contructed and the syntax of subordinate clauses and predicative possessive could be compared.Show less
