This thesis evaluates the degree of accountability in the case of the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out by examining the accountability interactions between the Parliament and the Commission. The aim of the analysis is on how the Parliament is fulfilling its role as an accountability forum by reviewing parliamentary questions regarding the vaccination roll-out from January 2021 to April 2021. The findings of the analysis are indicating that in the case of the vaccination roll-out, the level of accountability in the European Union is low. Furthermore, the findings are indicating that both, the Parliament and the Commission are not satisfying the requirements for a proper accountability relationship. The findings are drawn upon an analytical framework for evaluating public accountability.Show less
