Analysis of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Force Microscopy

In this thesis an analysis of the resonance slice as found in MRFM experiments is developed and the derived model is used to gain insight in the role of experimental parameters. With this knowledge experiments are proposed to test the model. The influence of the cantilever amplitude and the bandwidth of the RF-pulse according to this analysis are also shown. Lastly a mathematical analysis of partial differential equations arising from spin diffusion in inhomogeneous magnetic fields is performed.
